About The Position

The Activity Specialist designs and facilitates project-based learning experiences in a specialization such as baseball, basketball, gym/PE, or other sports. The role supports youth development through specialty activities and collaborates with site leadership to plan and deliver quality programming. The specialist also builds relationships with participants, families, and school faculty; coordinates events in their specialty area; and prepares program materials and required documentation.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience working with children and/or youth in the relevant specialization.
• Exemplary supervisory skills at the elementary level (middle school or high school aged youth) and an aptitude for motivating people.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently.
• Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines, and multitask.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with site leadership to plan, develop, and execute quality, project-based youth development activities.
• Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with participants, families, and school faculty.
• Coordinate events and functions in the specialty area, such as showcases, exhibits, productions, and culminating events.
• Engage participants in specialty-area activities, providing encouragement and resources.
• Prepare related paperwork, materials, and implementation supplies.
• Submit program- and certification-related documents on time.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
