About The Position

Officiate adult broomball programs fairly and accurately while acting professionally and courteously and exercising good judgment and common sense. Games are played on outdoor courts or fields. Hours vary by sport; most work takes place on weeknights, with occasional weekend tournaments. Officials may be required to help set up facilities for athletic play and work cooperatively with city staff, other officials, team managers, and players.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Be responsible and confident.
• Be able to control the flow of the game.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of experience officiating the desired adult athletic program.

Responsibilities

• Know and follow applicable state rules and local rules, regulations, and policies.
• Complete scheduled assignments or find an appropriate substitute from the officials’ roster after assignments have been published.
• Report the results of all officiated games by calling the scoreline by 12:00 noon the following day.
• Uphold the integrity of the recreational sport and report unsportsmanlike conduct.
• Help set up facilities for athletic play when required.
• Work cooperatively with city staff, other officials, team managers, and players to run the recreational program.
• Act politely and courteously and represent the city professionally.
