About The Position
The Cecil Whig is seeking an experienced sports editor to lead our sports department and work with other staff across Maryland. We’re seeking a seasoned editor with demonstrated success in managing a daily newspaper sports department in print and digital formats. The ideal candidate will have experience producing exceptional print, web and social media content. Photography skill is a bonus. Top candidates will be passionate about high school and college sports and will also understand the importance readers place on local sports coverage. Finally, we’re seeking candidates who can drive coverage that goes beyond game play, to include sports feature and enterprise stories.
Requirements
