About The Position

We have various sports and programming available throughout the year for kids age 3 through elementary school. This position is responsible for teaching fundamentals of soccer, enforcing rules and regulations during games, and emphasizing good sportsmanship and enjoyment of soccer. Additional responsibilities include game preparation and maintaining a safe environment.

Requirements

• Knowledge of soccer skills and rules
• Safety awareness
• Must be energetic and enjoy working with kids in a fun and fast-paced environment
• Must be sensitive to the needs of individuals
• Ability to build rapport with participants and parents
• Self-confidence
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to enforce rules impartially, consistently and calmly
• Must possess a spirit of good sportsmanship and exhibit the Y core values of respect, responsibility, honesty and caring
• CPR certification within 60 days of hire

Nice To Haves

• Personal experience in soccer
• Background in Y sports philosophy
• Experience refereeing or coaching
