About The Position

The Sports Camp Counselor, identified in the posting as a Kids First Camp Intern, teaches and coaches campers throughout the summer while supporting administrative and promotional duties. Interns are expected to represent Steel Sports with professionalism, energy, and enthusiasm.

The term runs July 6 through August 13, with 20 hours per week. An additional week, June 8–11, may be available. Weekly travel is required during camp weeks, with travel and lodging covered. Compensation is a $250 weekly stipend plus a $50 daily food allowance.

Requirements

• Complete required onboarding and training prior to camp.
• Professional communication with parents, staff, and campers.
• Maintain professional conduct and appearance.

Responsibilities

• Teach and coach campers throughout the summer.
• Coach and supervise campers during activities and breaks, and until pickup.
• Arrive at camps at least 45 minutes early and remain until equipment is cleared.
• Support camp setup, coordination, and weekly administrative tasks.
• Support promotional duties.
• Communicate professionally with parents, staff, and campers.
• Attend required events and maintain professional conduct and appearance.
• Complete required onboarding and training prior to camp.
