About The Position

The Chesapeake Baysox Sponsorship Activation Intern is a part-time internship for current university students receiving college credit. The intern gains real-world experience in a professional sports organization, learning about sponsorship fulfillment, sponsor servicing, and activation while developing communication and other professional skills. The position works with sponsorship and marketing teams, supports client relationships and documentation, and assists with activations at Baysox home games and other events. The intern may also represent the organization at community events and perform other duties assigned by the Director of Corporate Partnerships and the Baysox General Manager.

Requirements

Must be a current college sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student working for academic credit in Sport Management, Business Management, or a related field.
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to uphold company and Attain customer service standards.
Energetic, enthusiastic, and dedicated team player.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to pay attention to detail.
Ability to work event nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

Gain knowledge and experience servicing sponsorship clients.
Develop clear and friendly phone manners.
Shadow and learn from Sponsorship Sales Account Managers as directed by the Director of Corporate Partnerships.
Contribute to client satisfaction.
Research and identify potential sponsorship business.
Maintain accurate partner documentation, including contact information, activation activity, and photos.
Document sponsorship contracts and maintain logs for Proof of Performance reports.
Assist with partnership fulfillment by tracking deadlines and deliverables and coordinating communication between partners and the partnership/marketing team.
Represent the organization at outside community events and appearances as needed.
Work Chesapeake Baysox home games as directed by the Director of Corporate Partnerships.
Take, sort, and inventory photos of in-game sponsorship activations.
Build and maintain relationships with key sponsors during games and events.
Work with the Marketing and Sponsorship departments to execute sponsorship activations as needed.
Assist the sponsorship team with client check-ins.
Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Corporate Partnerships and the Baysox General Manager.
