About The Position

The Sponsored Residential Manager provides oversight and supervision of the day-to-day operations of the sponsored residential program services in the assigned office area within the Developmental Disabilities Program. Responsibilities include supervising designated staff members and overseeing facility needs such as space, furnishings, and equipment. This position screens all prospective Sponsored Providers and their homes, including completing the Home Finding process, DBHDS Licensing approval, and LHRC affiliation. The position is assigned to an on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in a human services field or an acceptable degree is required.
  • Must have five years of experience providing casework services to individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Supervisory experience within the field is required.
  • Knowledge of office and records administration techniques and procedures.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Sharepoint, Teams, and virtual meeting applications such as Zoom, WebEx, Google Meet.
  • Knowledge of DePaul's policies, procedures, and standard practices and the rules and guidelines established by regulatory and governing agencies such as DBHDS and DMAS.
  • Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and strategies to promote the safety and protection of people, data, and property.
  • Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of the social, economic, health, and/or disability challenges and concerns of individuals and the care provider/birth family and applicable community resources.
  • Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of social work skills including, but not limited to, problem-solving, case conceptualization, assessment (psychological, psychosocial, behavioral, etc.), building relationships while maintaining professional boundaries, and executing sound therapeutic practice.
  • Demonstrate verbal and written communication and body language that conveys information, ideas, or inquiries effectively and concisely that purveys professional composure, emotional intelligence, thoughtfulness, patience, and respect amidst change, ambiguity, and within the daily trajectories of work.

  • Supervise and consult with professional staff effectively; provide strong leadership and establish good working relationships with care providers, other community professionals, local social services departments, community service boards, and the general public.
  • Establish supportive relationships with supervisees and other program staff and provide constructive feedback when necessary.

  • Must provide documentation of a PPD test, chest x-ray, or screening from a qualified medical professional indicating the absence of TB.
  • Must pass a criminal and child protective services background report.
  • The applicant shall not have been convicted of any barrier crime(s) on the criminal background report.
  • The applicant will have no founded disposition of child abuse or neglect as documented by the Child Protective Services background report.

  • Maintain communication with each Residential Coordinator through one minimum home visit and one team meeting quarterly.
  • Maintain communication and positive working relationship with Community Services Boards, Providers, DBDHS and other community partners.
  • Assist with marketing DePaul services as needed.
  • Promote a positive work environment with positive relationships with all involved parties.
  • Attend monthly staff meetings within specific service areas to update on services or the organization.
  • Provide support through backup coverage for cases when the assigned Residential Coordinator is not available.
  • Provide core training to sponsored home parents in areas of expertise.
  • Participate in on-call service rotations.
  • Provide information for the success of DePaul programs & services to community organizations, associations, and media.

Responsibilities
