About The Position

The Sponsored Residential Manager provides oversight and supervision of the day-to-day operations of the sponsored residential program services in the assigned office area within the Developmental Disabilities Program. Responsibilities include supervising designated staff members and overseeing facility needs such as space, furnishings, and equipment. This position screens all prospective Sponsored Providers and their homes, including completing the Home Finding process, DBHDS Licensing approval, and LHRC affiliation. The position is assigned to an on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in a human services field or an acceptable degree is required.
  • Five years of experience providing casework services to individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Supervisory experience within the field is required.
  • Knowledge of office and records administration techniques and procedures.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Sharepoint, Teams, and virtual meeting applications such as Zoom, WebEx, Google Meet.
  • Knowledge of DePaul's policies, procedures, and standard practices and the rules and guidelines established by regulatory and governing agencies such as DBHDS and DMAS.
  • Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and strategies to promote the safety and protection of people, data, and property.
  • Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of the social, economic, health, and/or disability challenges and concerns of individuals and the care provider/birth family and applicable community resources.
  • Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of social work skills including problem-solving, case conceptualization, assessment, building relationships while maintaining professional boundaries, and executing sound therapeutic practice.
  • Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, take time to understand the points being made, ask questions as appropriate, and not interrupt at inappropriate times.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the evaluation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports/plans from Residential Coordinators, HR paperwork, and program & services compliances with involved parties.
  • Act as a supervisor by creating an office coverage calendar, completing annual staff performance evaluations, conducting monthly checkups with supervisees, participating in regular supervision meetings with the Senior Residential Manager, coordinating the use of student interns, and consulting with the Senior Manager regarding resolutions for disciplinary issues.
  • Participate in home finding duties including assessing prospective sponsored home providers, gathering information for assessment and study of potential providers, completing home studies, presenting information concerning approved sponsored home providers, ensuring provider homes comply with licensing/regulation standards, and entering required home approval documents into the DBHDS web portal.
  • Support in the recruitment cycle for Residential Coordinators and other DD program staff as requested, including interviewing, hiring, orientation, and training.
  • Maintain consistent communication with all community referral sources, problem-solve with other Sponsored Residential Managers, communicate with each Residential Coordinator through home visits and team meetings, maintain communication and positive working relationships with Community Services Boards, Providers, DBDHS and other community partners, and assist with marketing DePaul services.
  • Promote a positive work environment with positive relationships with all involved parties and attend monthly staff meetings to update on services or the organization.
  • Provide support through backup coverage for cases, core training to sponsored home parents, on-call service rotations, and providing information for the success of DePaul programs & services to community organizations, associations, and media.
