About The Position

Serves as the primary contact with sponsors to clarify proposal guidelines and funding priorities, and to assess submission deadlines. This role liaises with various internal departments and external stakeholders to support proposal development and submission, ensuring adherence to institutional policies and sponsor guidelines. The officer performs final administrative reviews of proposals for accuracy, compliance, and completeness, and works with stakeholders to obtain final approval before submission. They also review and submit Just-In-Time (JIT) information and validate proposal budgets and budget justifications. Additionally, this role involves reviewing high-risk elements for subawards and maintaining professional knowledge through continuous learning and participation in development activities. The officer disseminates information on changes in sponsor guidelines and regulations and actively participates in the administrative research support team, facilitating meetings to ensure compliance with all requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and experience, required.
  • Three years of related experience, required.
  • Proficiency in computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as primary contact with the sponsor to clarify proposal guidelines and funding priorities and to assess submission deadlines.
  • Liaises with various departments and individuals to support proposal development and submission.
  • Ensures adherence to institutional policies and sponsor guidelines for funding applications.
  • Performs final administrative review of proposal submissions for accuracy, compliance, and completeness.
  • Finalizes proposal applications and works with stakeholders to attain final approval before submission.
  • Validates and submits final applications and communicates submission to the proposal team.
  • Reviews and submits JIT information to the sponsor.
  • Reviews proposal budget and budget justification for accuracy against proposed work.
  • Reviews high-risk elements above risk threshold for Subawards and communicates with Research Finance as needed.
  • Maintains a high level of professional knowledge through self-study, research, participation in professional development, and attendance at webinars and conferences.
  • Disseminates information on changes with NIH and other sponsors guidelines, forms, requirements, regulations, etc. to customers.
  • Active member of the administrative research support team, facilitates meetings as needed to effectively oversee compliance with institutional, local, state, federal and other sponsor requirements and regulations.
