About The Position

The Genders and Sexualities Alliance (GSA) is an organization that works to improve student climate for all students regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression. The GSA meets throughout the school year. The job goal is to support the student leaders and members of the GSA in their organization of meetings and other activities. In alignment with the district's Mission Statement, students involved in this club will learn to cultivate academic and artistic excellence, and become confident, ethical, empathetic, and responsible citizens.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and members of community organizations
• Strong organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Reserve meeting space for meetings
• Advertise meetings to students through fliers and announcements
• Connect students to community organizations which provide support for inclusive schools and LGBTQIA2S+ individuals
• Attend membership meetings
• Submit a year-end report outlining the goals, activities, highlights and achievements of the organization. Submission of this report is required prior to receiving the final installment of the financial stipend for this position.
