About The Position

This role provides primary support for evaluating and underwriting Direct Loans and other credit exposures to Private Equity owned non-investment grade borrowers. The Analyst will also support Originations, Syndications, Monitoring, and Relationship Management functions within the Sponsor Finance & Direct Lending business unit. The Analyst will act as a corporate finance professional, supporting transaction origination and credit analysis efforts, assessing risk factors, and determining appropriate risk ratings based on established policies. Responsibilities include active credit management and monitoring to maximize bank income while minimizing credit costs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Work experience in financial institutions or equivalent credit risk related function analyzing corporate customers
  • Knowledge of accounting and corporate finance
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong financial modeling skills
  • Good computer skills in Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel
  • Able to work independently and under pressure

Responsibilities

  • Support the credit analysis and management of the Sponsor/Direct Lending business unit.
  • Perform due diligence on new transactions and regularly evaluate the existing loan portfolio.
  • Provide support for evaluating, structuring, and negotiating terms and credit agreements with Sponsor clients.
  • Support the preparation of detailed credit analyses and required credit applications in accordance with internal policies and regulatory guidance.
  • Evaluate company-specific, industry, and regulatory risks, as well as historical and projected operating performance and capital structure.
  • Utilize modeling skills for the credit application process and quarterly review presentations.
  • Support the coverage team’s idea generation and pitch books for Sponsor clients and potential clients, and attend client meetings as required.
  • Provide support for syndication strategy, including lender presentations and liaison with participant lenders.
  • Coordinate and communicate account information across various constituencies throughout the organization.
  • Understand current relevant industry conditions in assigned portfolio utilizing internal and external sources.
  • Oversee facility closing procedures, including operations and documentation.
  • Work within a deal team environment supporting the development and analysis of financing structures/strategies, including leveraged capital markets and other product areas.
  • Support credit analysis for structured credit transactions (derivatives transactions, margin lending, receivable securitizations, supply chain finance).
  • Understand and maintain knowledge of industries represented in the portfolio, including technical aspects and regulatory issues.
  • Participate in client and bank meetings as necessary.
  • Support communication with the credit approval division, including final hold level strategies, to ensure alignment of risk strategy and policy.
  • Evaluate and establish appropriate ratings for transactions and correlate appropriate exposure level with regard to exposure on both a transaction and group level.
  • Ensure compliance with policy and regulatory requirements.
