About The Position

Vivie is seeking a compassionate Spiritual Care Counselor to join their Hospice team. This part-time role involves providing spiritual and emotional support to patients and their families, acting as a liaison with community clergy, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team. The counselor will also offer crisis intervention and bereavement support, and maintain accurate patient care documentation. The position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, emotional intelligence, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass a background check. Regular travel to client homes within the region is expected.

Requirements

Strong oral and written communication to document care effectively.
Ability to work with diverse beliefs and honor individual spiritual preferences.
Emotional intelligence to support patients, families, and staff with sensitivity and empathy.
Valid driver's license and access to an insured personal vehicle.
Ability to pass state mandated background check.
Physical capability to perform all essential job functions.
Ability to read, write, and speak English to ensure effective communication with staff, patients, and families.

Responsibilities

Offer prayer, life review, and counseling to patients and families, adapting care to individual beliefs and preferences.
Build relationships with community clergy and connect patients with spiritual care services as needed.
Collaborate with hospice staff to integrate spiritual care into patient-centered care plans.
Assist families and caregivers through grief, trauma, and stress, providing compassionate guidance during difficult times.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient needs, interventions, and family support efforts.
