About The Position

Northstar Aerospace, now part of Avio Aero - a GE Aerospace Company, is a leading independent manufacturer of components and assemblies to the global Aerospace industry. Our principal products include gears and transmissions, accessory gearbox assemblies, rotorcraft drive systems, and other machined and fabricated parts for helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. We also provide maintenance and repair and overhaul (MRO) on these platforms.

Requirements

Read and interpret complicated prints and drawings.
Use decimals, fractions, trigonometry and shop mathematics.
Use a wide variety of precision measuring instruments.
Requires knowledge of Spiral Bevel Gear grinding, generators, and testing equivalent to 4 years high school and 3 to 4 years trades training.
Over 5 years on wide variety of Spiral Bevel gear work.

Responsibilities

Diversified Spiral Bevel gear sets involving complicated setups. Requires the ability to produce satisfactory gear sets working from a calculated summary which has never been developed on a machine including spread blade or duplex methods on reversible, hypoid or angular gears and curvic clutches.
Set up and operate testing machine.
Exercise care to prevent burning, operate multiple machines.
True cutters as necessary.
