About The Position

The Spinner Operator performs operational functions involved in the production, inspection, and distribution of products or services for customers. The role operates and sets up Spinner equipment, changes tooling, performs quality checks, and documents production results. The employee follows safety policies, quality requirements, ISO procedures, work instructions, and workplace rules while maintaining a clean work area and meeting production standards. The position is located at Norris Cylinder Company in Huntsville, Alabama, and is listed as hourly, full-time, and third shift.

Requirements

Education or experience sufficient to communicate effectively and perform the duties, assignments, and responsibilities of the job.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents related to the job.
Ability to perform basic mathematical equations.
Ability to make decisions when identifying in-process problems.
Ability to handle a variety of job assignments.
Ability to follow work rules, work independently, be flexible, and perform a variety of jobs.
Ability to use the machinery and equipment needed for assigned work.
Ability to work effectively and courteously with coworkers and other personnel.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including occasionally lifting or moving up to 60 pounds.
Required vision abilities include close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Ear protection is required in the high-noise production environment.

Responsibilities

Operate the Spinner machine.
Change out Spinner tooling.
Complete Statistical Process Control Charts for products being spun.
Use control gauges to inspect Spinner output.
Identify folded necks in cylinders and scrap them as appropriate.
Complete written reports.
Follow equipment setup procedures.
Perform assignments according to established safety policies and procedures.
Adhere to the Quality Policy and applicable ISO policies, procedures, and work instructions.
Follow work rules and standards in the Employee Handbook.
Maintain good housekeeping and clean work areas.
Review applicable work orders or procedural instructions before beginning assignments.
Perform specified quality assurance checks and ensure work meets specifications, instructions, and requirements.
Meet production standards within a reasonable time based on the difficulty of the assignment.
Perform other appropriately assigned tasks supporting Norris Cylinder’s mission.
