About The Position

This role involves operating Spice Room machines, including the Kettle Room, Hoppers, Slurry Mixers, Kettles, and Defrost Mixers. The operator is responsible for ensuring correct ingredient usage, maintaining product quality, managing inventory, and completing necessary paperwork. The position requires the ability to work independently in a hot environment and may involve operating a forklift. Additionally, the operator will provide leadership and training to other Spice Room Associates.

Requirements

Ability to communicate with others orally.
Must be able to read and understand English in order to read recipes.
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Must be able to work independently in hot environment.

Responsibilities

Set up, run, and safely operate Spice Room machines including Kettle Room, Hoppers, Slurry Mixers, Kettles, and Defrost Mixer.
Verify all guarding is in place before starting machines and ensure machines are cleaned and flushed at the end of the shift.
Verify information provided for the daily production run and location for each brine mixture created.
Retrieve Production Set-up from Production Manager.
Obtain samples and have them reviewed by the lab to ensure proper ranges.
Record ingredients used and PH, sugar, and salt ranges.
Retrieve and maintain product quality forms and checklists for the QA Lab, including the Spice Room Log.
Monitor production line to ensure spices are being transported correctly from the Spice Room.
Complete all necessary paperwork.
Transport spice to the line as necessary.
Monitor spice inventory and retrieve spices from the warehouse when shortages are identified.
Maintain all Spice Logs (Ingredients, Temperatures, Gallons).
Conduct training of new associates and cross-training of other associates.
Operate a forklift to retrieve ingredients from the warehouse.
Provide leadership, guidance, and training to Spice Room Associates.
