Speech Therapy Team Lead
About The Position
The Speech-Language Pathologist Team Lead will be responsible for performing all Speech Language Therapy Services including outpatient and inpatient. This individual provides Speech Language Therapy services to patients in accordance with the physician treatment plans. This includes work to prevent, evaluate, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders in children and adolescents. The Speech Language Pathologist may also be involved in the supervision of rehab aides and students. This position will assure quality Speech Language Pathology care and regulatory guideline compliance leading to positive patient outcomes. Additional team lead duties include, oversight of scheduling and daily operations, quality assurance, monitoring productivity and budget, supply management, collaboration with other disciplines, regulatory compliance, and assist Rehab Director with vision and growth of department services. The Position: 1.0 FTE. 80 hours per pay period. Shift: Days
Requirements
- Completion of American Speech Language Pathology accredited program with a M.S., M.A. or Ph.D., degree.
- Successful completion of the Speech Language Pathology Praxis Exam
- Successful achievement of the American Speech and Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCCs)
- Licensed as a Speech Language Pathologist, registered in the state of Iowa
- Must have very good interpersonal skills
- Must have the ability to be an autonomous decision maker
- Must have the ability to work with multicultural and multigenerational customers
- Must exhibit a desire for professional growth and development by demonstrating the willingness to learn, improve job skills and knowledge, and educate supportive personnel
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Must have basic computer skills
- Maintains certification for assigned work area
- Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains current status.
- Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 3 years.
Nice To Haves
- A minimum of two years speech pathology experience is preferred but not required.
