The Speech Pathologist will work with assigned agencies/schools to provide speech therapy for identified children. This role involves ensuring screening and evaluation procedures are provided for students, and that due process procedures are followed. The position requires maintaining necessary records confidentially and collaborating with the Director of Special Education to meet program needs. The Speech Pathologist will also assist the Director in locating and identifying eligible handicapped students, screening referred children to determine eligibility for further evaluations, and scheduling evaluations. Collaboration with other professionals, such as School Psychologists, is necessary for complete evaluations. Maintaining all required records, including permission forms, testing, IEPs, and documentation of parental contact, is crucial. The role also involves working with the Director of Special Education to determine the most appropriate program direction.
