About The Position

Farmington Public Schools is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) Speech-Language Pathologist starting August 2026. The SLP will provide direct speech and language therapy services to students with communication needs as outlined in their IEPs or as referred by program staff. This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed SLP who is passionate about supporting student progress.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders.
  • CT Certification (061)
  • Valid state SLP license and ASHA certification (CCC-SLP preferred).
  • School-based experience preferred.
  • Experience working with children with a range of communication needs.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • ASHA certification (CCC-SLP preferred).
  • School-based experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and/or small group speech-language therapy sessions.
  • Implement and monitor IEP goals related to speech and language development.
  • Assess, document, and report student progress toward IEP goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support students' communication needs.
  • Develop or adapt therapy materials appropriate for summer learning.
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with district, state, and federal regulations.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
