About The Position

This position supports instructional programming by providing speech/language therapy to students as required. The Speech Language Pathologist will schedule students into appropriate instructional groups and provide therapeutic services in both the general education setting and the Speech office to students with a wide variety of speech and language disorders and student needs. The role involves performing diagnostic evaluations, implementing treatment plans, and consulting and collaborating with classroom teachers and other school staff members to implement effective therapy. The Speech Language Pathologist will also serve as a consultant to school staff, participate in Team and parent meetings, be responsible for goal writing, and occasionally serve as a liaison for IEPs. Record keeping of individual student services is essential, and assistance with mobility, transitioning, and personal care may be required. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Communication Disorders, Speech and Language Pathology or a related field.
  • DESE licensed as Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Holds Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or has completed requirements and application with ASHA is pending.
  • Experience and commitment to working in a racially and culturally diverse teaching and learning community.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of AAC preferred.
