About The Position

Amedisys, part of the Optum family of businesses, provides home health, hospice, and community-based services. As a Per Diem Speech Pathologist, you will provide skilled in-home evaluation and treatment for speech, language, cognition, voice, and swallowing disorders. You will partner with patients, families, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary team to improve communication, safety, independence, and quality of life through personalized care. The role focuses on preventing, assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders in adults, as well as providing aural rehabilitation and augmentative and alternative communication systems where appropriate. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP), with completed graduate coursework and a clinical practicum at a college or university whose program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA).
Current, unencumbered license to practice speech pathology in the state where assigned to work.
Driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
Current CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of experience in Speech Pathology.

Responsibilities

Prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive communication, and swallowing disorders in adults.
Provide aural rehabilitation for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Provide augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language comprehension disorders.
Perform other duties as assigned.
