About The Position
CommuniCare Rehab, a member of the CommuniCare Family of Companies, has a part-time opening for a Speech Language Pathologist at Caroleton Healthcare Center. Therapists are in-house team members, providing an opportunity to make a direct impact on residents through therapy. CommuniCare is a growing company with 170 centers across Indiana, Maryland, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. The role may include treating at multiple locations to serve residents’ diverse needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid or pending state Speech Language Pathology license.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, review, and screen patient and resident medical charts and evaluations under physician order, and develop treatment plans in accordance with patient needs.
- Plan, direct, or conduct rehabilitative treatment programs to improve communication, swallowing, and cognitive problems.
- Administer, score, and interpret specialized speech tests.
- Instruct residents, families, and caregivers on monitoring speech, practicing new skills, diet recommendations, and safe-swallowing techniques and modifications.
- Attend or lead interdisciplinary meetings as appropriate to relay clinical findings and make recommendations to other rehabilitation team members.
- Participate in family meetings and education.
