About The Position

TheraDynamics is hiring a Speech-Language Pathologist to work in a skilled nursing setting. The role involves evaluating and treating residents with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders, including dysphagia, aphasia, cognitive-linguistic deficits, voice disorders, and communication barriers. The SLP conducts bedside and instrumental swallowing assessments, develops individualized treatment plans and diet texture recommendations, and provides cognitive-linguistic therapy. The position is part of an interdisciplinary care team and includes collaboration with dietary, nursing, and medical staff, as well as training for nursing staff and families on communication strategies and safe feeding techniques.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• CCC-SLP certification, or eligibility as a Clinical Fellowship candidate.
• Current New York State SLP license or eligibility for one.
• Strong collaboration and documentation skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with MBSS/FEES instrumental swallowing assessments.
• Dysphagia assessment and treatment experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
• Conduct bedside and instrumental swallowing assessments.
• Develop individualized treatment plans.
• Collaborate with dietary staff on diet texture recommendations.
• Provide cognitive-linguistic therapy for patients with dementia and traumatic brain injury.
• Train nursing staff and families on communication strategies and safe feeding techniques.
• Collaborate with dietary, nursing, and medical teams as a member of the interdisciplinary care team.
