About The Position
CommuniCare Rehab, a member of the CommuniCare Family of Companies, is hiring a full-time Speech Language Pathologist at Crestview Healthcare Center in Jane Lew, West Virginia. The therapist is an in-house team member who provides therapy directly to residents. The role may include treating at multiple locations to serve residents’ diverse needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid or pending state Speech-Language Pathology license.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, review, and screen patient or resident medical charts and evaluations under physician order, and develop treatment plans according to patient needs.
- Plan, direct, or conduct rehabilitative treatment programs to improve communication, swallowing, and cognitive problems.
- Administer, score, and interpret specialized speech tests.
- Instruct residents, families, and caregivers on monitoring speech, practicing new skills, diet recommendations, and safe-swallowing techniques.
- Attend or lead interdisciplinary meetings as appropriate to relay clinical findings and make recommendations to other rehabilitation team members.
- Participate in family meetings and education.
- Treat at multiple locations as needed to serve residents’ needs.
