Origami Rehabilitation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing comprehensive rehabilitation for children and adults with various conditions through residential and outpatient programs. This PRN Speech-Language Pathologist role offers variety, collaboration, and the chance to impact multiple therapy settings across three Lansing-based locations: Origami Main (Mason), Origami Greenlawn (South Lansing), and Origami West (West Lansing). While locations vary, the mission, core values, and collaborative culture remain consistent. The role involves working with supportive treatment teams in engaging atmospheres, providing high-quality care. This position is ideal for flexible, adaptable individuals excited by variety, as work locations will shift based on organizational needs within the Lansing area. The role allows experience in different therapy settings while being part of a unified, mission-driven team.

Requirements

  • Interest in treating children and adult populations
  • Possess a valid State Driver’s License or ability to plan and provide transportation as required
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Possess a valid Speech-Language Pathology License in the State of Michigan
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certification (provided by Origami)

Responsibilities

  • Model positive behavior to foster a safe, respectful, and supportive therapeutic environment.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information internally and with external partners.
  • Proactively address tasks and utilize problem-solving techniques for smooth communication and timely resolutions.
  • Adhere to ASHA’s code of ethics and State of Michigan regulations while evaluating and treating clients referred by physicians.
  • Document assessments, progress notes, discharge summaries, and billing information promptly and accurately.
  • Provide education on swallowing precautions, alternative modalities, and best practices to clients, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to program development and quality improvement through data collection, analysis, and active participation in committees.
  • Manage schedules, report necessary repairs, request resources, and cover SLP services as needed, upholding emergency procedures and other assigned duties.
