About The Position

Regency Hospital - Central Georgia is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The Speech Language Pathologist provides compassionate care to patients, evaluating and treating communication and swallowing needs in collaboration with interdisciplinary colleagues. The role is per diem/PRN and as needed, located in Macon, Georgia, with compensation of $55.00 per hour and a $5,000 sign-on bonus. The hospital offers an extensive orientation program and notes that the role may provide opportunities to pursue full-time employment.

Requirements

• Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Certified BLS or completion of BLS certification within the first 90 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language & Hearing Association.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive evaluations of communication skills and/or swallowing function.
• Provide goal-oriented treatment to maximize patients’ communication and/or swallowing potential.
• Collaborate with associates to provide quality interdisciplinary patient programming.
• Participate with fellow staff in monitoring the quality of services provided by the Rehab Therapy Department.
• Participate in peer review for staff performance and appraisals.
• Assist in developing the SLP role in programs and services and revising departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist in maintaining an adequate stock of supplies.
• Share professional knowledge and experience.
• Alert the Manager to educational needs.
