About The Position

Lifepoint Rehabilitation is seeking a PRN Speech-Language Pathologist at MyMichigan Medical Center Alma. The role evaluates and treats patients with swallowing, speech-language, and therapy needs, and develops individualized care plans in collaboration with patients and families. The schedule is as needed, with varying hours typically from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Availability to work weekends and holidays is required. New graduates are welcome.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Licensed Speech Therapist with current licensure from the state Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients for swallowing, speech-language, and therapy needs.
• Perform and document initial and ongoing assessments of patients’ conditions.
• Design and implement appropriate plans of care that address identified problems and involve patients and families.
• Educate and counsel patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress.
• Plan and/or assist with patient discharge from therapy services.
• Supervise activities of clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel.
