Speech Language Pathologist SLP Part Time
About The Position
Amedisys, part of the Optum family of businesses, provides home health, hospice, and community-based services. The Speech Language Pathologist provides skilled in-home evaluation and treatment for speech, language, cognition, voice, and swallowing disorders. The role partners with patients, families, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary team to improve communication, safety, independence, and quality of life through personalized care. The position works to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive communication, and swallowing disorders in adults. It also provides aural rehabilitation for people who are deaf or hard of hearing and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language comprehension disorders. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Current, unencumbered license to practice speech pathology in the state where assigned to work.
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
- Completed graduate coursework and clinical practicum at a college or university whose program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA).
- Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities
- Prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive communication, and swallowing disorders in adults.
- Provide aural rehabilitation for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Provide augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language comprehension disorders.
- Partner with patients, families, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary team to improve communication, safety, independence, and quality of life.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
