About The Position

Strong Rehabilitation Centre in Vancouver, BC. Apply today to join our team! As a Speech Language Pathologist with VCH you will: Assess, diagnose and treat the full range of communication and swallowing disorders. Complete client reports, educate clients/family, provide counselling and consultation, and present lectures. Participate in interdisciplinary team rounds, risk management and research, and provide leadership to new employees and Speech-Language Pathology students.
Requirements
- Current full registration as a Speech Language Pathologist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).
- Broad knowledge of evidence based practice.
- Broad knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in client care.
- Broad knowledge of research process and methodology.
- Basic knowledge of adult education principles, methods and tools.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to operate related computer equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize workload.
- Demonstrated ability to determine and deal effectively with urgent situations, clients/families/ residents.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective consultation.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other healthcare professionals.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the job.
