About The Position

The Speech Language Pathologist works in the inpatient department at Ascension Alexian Brothers Rehabilitation Hospital in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. The role develops, implements, and regularly reassesses individualized, patient-centered plans of care in collaboration with patients and families. It delivers evidence-based interventions for complex diagnoses, including neurological, oncological, orthopedic, cardiopulmonary, and medically complex conditions. The therapist collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care, optimize outcomes, and support safe, effective discharge planning, while using rehabilitation technologies and best practices to maximize functional recovery and independence. The schedule is day shift, PRN, with a minimum weekend and holiday requirement.

Requirements

BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer.
Speech-language pathologist credential from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained before hire or job transfer. A provisional license is accepted until the license is issued; the license must be obtained within 12 months of hire or job transfer.
Bachelor's degree required.
One year of inpatient experience.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree preferred.
