About The Position

Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy is seeking a motivated, compassionate, and forward-thinking Speech-Language Pathologist for a part-time role at its outpatient clinic in Carroll Gardens. The clinician will assess patients’ strengths and needs and develop creative, effective treatment plans. The caseload may include aphasia, dysphagia, pediatric and school-age patients, voice disorders, cognitive communication disorders, and AAC use. Experience with pediatrics is required. Metro recently partnered with NYU Langone and is building its outpatient clinics. The role is 10–15 hours per week and pays $50 per hour. The position may offer an opportunity to grow into part-time or full-time employment.

Requirements

• Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in New York or eligible for licensure.
• Experience with pediatrics is required.
• Current First Aid, AED, and CPR certifications earned through a live course.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients’ need for speech therapy and develop appropriate treatment plans.
• Provide care and treatment based on the physician’s care plan, agency policy, and professional standards of care.
• Instruct family members, Home Health Aides, and other caregivers in appropriate speech therapy techniques and home exercise programs.
