About The Position

Baptist Medical Center is hiring a Speech Language Pathologist for the Wolfson’s Rehab team in Fleming Island, Jacksonville, Florida. This is a full-time position in an adult acute care setting, working a day shift at the main campus downtown. The position participates in team weekend and holiday coverage rotations. The ideal candidate has experience with Modified Barium Swallow Studies in an acute care setting. The Speech Language Pathologist evaluates and treats patients across diagnoses, provides extensive patient and family education, and participates in multidisciplinary care with rehabilitation professionals and other clinical and support staff. The role is based in a fast-paced environment and requires effective time management, detailed EMR documentation, self-direction, and communication skills.

Requirements

Master of Science or Master of Arts degree.
Licensed Speech Language Pathologist.
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
At least 1 year of experience working in an acute care setting is strongly preferred.
Experience with Modified Barium Swallow Studies is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Evaluate and treat patients of all diagnoses.
Provide extensive patient and family education.
Participate in multidisciplinary team care with rehabilitation professionals, nursing, physicians, dietitians, social services, respiratory staff, and other support staff.
Maintain effective time management and detailed documentation in the EMR in a fast-paced setting.
Participate in team weekend and holiday coverage rotations.
