About The Position

BAYADA Home Health Care is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join its Big Island Visits team, serving clients in their homes in Hilo or Kona, Hawaii. The SLP evaluates and diagnoses clients with speech, language, communication, or swallowing difficulties; develops and updates treatment plans; and provides therapeutic interventions to help clients meet their goals. The role is part of a multidisciplinary health care team providing skilled nursing and rehabilitative care so clients can remain at home. The SLP also educates patients and families, documents care using a touch pad tablet, and receives paid training and clinical support around the clock. The position is per diem up to part-time, with flexible scheduling and a weekly pay schedule. Base pay is $80–$90 per point, depending on qualifications and subject to negotiation.

Requirements

• Hold a current license as a Speech Language Pathologist in Hawaii.
• Have one year of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist.

Responsibilities

• Perform evaluations to assess and diagnose speech, language, communication, or swallowing difficulties and provide therapeutic interventions.
• Develop treatment plans based on evaluations, physician orders, and recommended goals.
• Continually assess and revise speech therapy care plans and participate with BAYADA clinicians in multidisciplinary care planning, as appropriate.
• Educate and instruct patients, family members, or other patient representatives in rehabilitative care and activities that promote health, safety, and independent living.
• Document observations, interventions, evaluations, patient care management, and services provided using a touch pad tablet.
