About The Position

BAYADA Home Health Care is seeking an experienced Speech Language Pathologist for a per diem home health opportunity with its Montgomery County Visits Office. The office serves adult and geriatric patients in homes throughout Washington County, Maryland. The Speech Language Pathologist is part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team providing rehabilitative care and skilled nursing so clients can receive medical care at home. Prior home care experience is a plus but is not required.

Requirements

• Hold a current Speech Language Pathologist license in Maryland.
• Meet one of the stated certification pathways: hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association; meet the equivalent education and work experience requirements and be awaiting the ASHA certification examination; or have completed the required education and work and be accumulating the supervised work experience required for certification.
• Have solid computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• Prior home care experience as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Prior experience with electronic medical records (EMR).

Responsibilities

• Make home visits to clients in designated geographic territories.
• Evaluate clients, diagnose conditions, and provide therapeutic interventions for speech, language, communication, or swallowing difficulties.
• Develop treatment plans based on evaluations, physician orders, and recommended goals.
• Continually assess and revise speech therapy care plans and participate in multidisciplinary care planning with BAYADA clinicians as appropriate.
• Educate and instruct patients, family members, or other patient representatives in rehabilitative care and activities that support health, safety, and independent living.
• Document observations, interventions, evaluations, patient care management, and services provided using a touch pad tablet.
