About The Position
Douglas Education Service District is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Speech Language Pathologist to work with students in Kindergarten through 12th grade. This position serves the schools of Douglas County, and the location of this position can be subject to change. The position is for 190 days per year, 5 days per week, beginning immediately. The primary role is to provide comprehensive assessment, therapy, and consultation services in the area of communication disorders.
Requirements
- Requires a valid SLP license from the Oregon Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathology prior to the first day of employment, OR a Teachers Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) license that has an endorsement for either communication disorders or speech impairment.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes the effectiveness, appropriateness, and usefulness of strategies and practices used with students, parents, and staff.
- Designs, implements, and supervises delivery of instructional programs to meet IEP/IFSP goals.
- Participates as a member of a team (IEP/IFSP, Placement, etc.) and assumes appropriate roles; leads, follows, and supports others in a productive manner.
- Assesses students' levels of functioning and their therapy needs.
- Participates in development of IEP/IFSP for each eligible student.
- Other duties as assigned.
