The Speech Language Pathologist evaluates and treats individuals with speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders, supporting patient recovery and communication improvement. The Rehabilitation Institute of South San Antonio is a 36-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital located at 12011 SE Loop 410 Access Road in San Antonio, Texas. It’s designed for individuals recovering from serious injuries or illnesses that have affected their ability to function independently. This new, state-of-the-art facility provides intensive, patient-focused rehabilitation services, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy. It specializes in helping patients regain mobility, strength, and independence after events like strokes, traumatic injuries, or surgeries.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Current SLP license and ASHA certification.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Strong communication skills and clinical judgement required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in acute or rehab setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess speech, language, and swallowing abilities.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on patient needs.
  • Provide education to patients and families regarding therapy goals.
  • Document evaluations, treatments, and patient progress accurately.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams on care coordination.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
