The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in the Outpatient Rehabilitation department will interpret physician referrals and conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for patients with various communication and swallowing disorders. The role involves establishing and implementing individualized treatment plans, monitoring patient progress, and adjusting care as needed. The SLP will also manage patient discharge, including providing home programs and family education, and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care. Documentation, daily statistics, billing, and scheduling are key components of this role, along with adhering to insurance guidelines and productivity standards. The position requires performing manual techniques, patient positioning, and transporting, utilizing available equipment, and promoting patient safety through adherence to infection control measures. Participation in performance improvement activities and managing caseloads are also expected. The SLP will pursue professional growth through continuing education and may supervise non-licensed personnel and students.
