About The Position

This is a voice-focused Speech-Language Pathologist position, supporting a Laryngologist. The role involves participating in diagnostic clinics and outpatient services. Travel is required to Chagrin Minoff, Avon, and Cleveland locations. The Speech-Language Pathologist organizes and conducts services to facilitate the rehabilitation of individuals with physical and/or psychosocial disabilities, directing patient participation in selected activities to promote and maintain good health and communication.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree MA or MS Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited graduate program.
  • Graduate Program Clinical Experience
  • Must have professional initiative, objectivity, good time management and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be physically and cognitively able to provide patient assessment and treatment.
  • Requires the evaluation and treatment skills necessary to provide Speech-Language Pathology services appropriate to the developmental/chronological age of patients on their caseload.
  • Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Licensed by the State of Ohio, Board of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology
  • Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) American Speech Language Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Basic Life Support Certification (Required Upon Hire)

Responsibilities

  • Organizes and conducts the Speech-Language Pathology plan of care to facilitate the habilitation or rehabilitation of people with speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, psychosocial, and swallowing disabilities.
  • Directs patient participation in selected activities to establish, enhance, and restore speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, psychosocial, and swallowing abilities.
  • Performs evaluation(s), develops an effective treatment plan appropriate to a patient’s rehabilitation needs within the care continuum, initiates and participates in the discharge planning process.
  • Educates patient/family/caregiver in applicable health information, treatment and prevention.
  • Performs other department activities such as, but not limited to, documentation, billing, support of department operations, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
