About The Position

A member of the speech and language department; is responsible for providing support to students in areas of speech and language activities under the direction and supervision of a certified speech and language pathologist.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Disorders or Speech and Language Pathology

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Speech and Language screenings (without interpretation) following specified screening protocol.
  • Maintain the short-term objectives on the IEPs which may cover the areas of speech, language, voice and fluency
  • Document and report the status of student progress and performance on a regular basis.
  • Assist with informal documentation and preparing materials (i.e. communication boards, overlays).
  • Check to see that the student devices are in working order.
  • Collaborate with speech-language pathologist and other team members including teachers and parents, to ensure positive student outcomes
  • Collect meaningful and accurate data to be shared with team members (parents, teachers, SLP, OT, PT)
  • Attend meetings and provide feedback for student progress reports
  • Provide additional supports and services as directed.
