SPED Paraprofessional (Teacher's Assistant) AMS Little Rock (2026-2027)
About The Position
Academies of Math and Science (AMS), a network of high-performing K–8 public charter schools focused on academic excellence, college readiness, and equitable access to education, is seeking a dedicated, student-centered SPED Paraprofessional / Teacher’s Assistant for its Little Rock campus. The role supports classroom instruction and provides targeted assistance to students, including students with special needs. Working alongside teachers, the paraprofessional helps students learn, participates in classroom activities, and contributes to a structured, engaging, and safe learning environment. The position is full-time and on-site, with an immediate start date, and offers a starting wage of $15.50 per hour depending on experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and a passing score on the paraprofessional exam, or an associate degree or higher.
- Experience working with children.

Responsibilities
- Work alongside the lead teacher to support daily classroom instruction.
- Provide small-group and one-on-one support to students.
- Assist with implementing lesson plans and classroom activities.
- Support student engagement and reinforce learning concepts.
- Assist students with special needs in alignment with their IEP goals.
- Provide individualized support to help students access the curriculum.
- Support behavior management strategies and promote a positive classroom environment.
- Help maintain a structured, organized, and safe classroom environment.
- Support classroom management and student supervision.
- Occasionally assist with classroom coverage when needed.
