About The Position

The Specimen Processor supports patient care by ensuring laboratory specimens are properly processed, prepared, routed, and stored. The role involves identifying when corrective action is needed and implementing effective solutions, while working in a laboratory environment with biological hazards and required personal protective equipment. The position champions safety, compliance, and quality control. It has routine access to Protected Health Information (PHI), which must be handled confidentially and accessed only as needed to perform job duties, in accordance with applicable privacy and security standards. The position is part-time, scheduled for 24 hours per week in Memphis, Tennessee. Days vary Monday through Friday, and hours vary between 3:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. This role is categorized as second shift and is eligible for partial benefits.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.
Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including telephones, computers, centrifuges, and audible alarms.

Nice To Haves

1–2 years of related experience in a clinical laboratory, data entry, or production.
