About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor I to join its team in Brick, New Jersey. The role prepares, sorts, identifies, labels, stores, and ships laboratory specimens for analysis and testing, while entering patient information and addressing specimen issues. Work is performed in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment according to established standard operating procedures. The position supports department activity and production goals and helps ensure the accuracy of healthcare testing. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., with rotating Saturdays as needed. Pay is $17.75–$20.00 per hour. Job offers are based on skills, relevant experience, applicable degrees or certifications, internal equity, and market data.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Comfortable handling biological specimens.
Ability to accurately identify specimens.
Experience working in a team environment.
Strong data-entry and organizational skills.
High level of attention to detail.
Proficient in MS Office.
Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

One or more years of experience in a laboratory, accessioning, production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.
One or more years of medical or production experience.

Responsibilities

Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas.
Accurately identify and label specimens.
Pack and ship specimens to the appropriate testing facilities.
Meet department activity and production goals.
Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples.
Enter patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
Resolve and document problem specimens.
Perform clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry according to established standard operating procedures.
