About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join its Specimen Processing and Accessioning team in St. Paul, Minnesota. The role prepares and processes laboratory specimens for analysis and testing, including unpacking, routing, identifying, labeling, packing, and shipping samples. It also involves accurate patient-information data entry, handling and storing excess samples, meeting department production goals, and resolving and documenting problem specimens.

The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 5:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. The pay rate is $17.75 per hour plus a shift differential. Job offers are based on skills, relevant experience, degrees or certifications, internal equity, and market data.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Comfort handling biological specimens.
• Ability to accurately identify specimens.
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Strong data-entry and organizational skills.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

• Current or prior Labcorp experience.
• At least one year of experience in a laboratory or specimen processing.
• At least one year of medical or clinical laboratory experience.
• At least one year of healthcare industry experience, such as in a physician's office, clinic, or hospital.
• One year of experience in an assembly or manufacturing production environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
• Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas.
• Accurately identify and label specimens.
• Pack and ship specimens to the appropriate testing facilities.
• Meet department activity and production goals.
• Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples.
• Enter patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
• Resolve and document problem specimens.
