Specimen Processor - 3rd Shift

About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a dedicated and motivated Specimen Processor I to join its Specimen Processing and Accessioning team in Holyoke, Massachusetts. The role performs clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment according to established standard operating procedures. The position supports accurate laboratory testing by preparing and routing specimens, maintaining specimen records, and resolving processing issues. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., with rotating weekends and holidays. The pay range is $17.75–$19.00 per hour. Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits, subject to the exceptions described in the posting.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Comfort handling biological specimens.
Ability to accurately identify specimens.
Experience working in a team environment.
Strong data-entry and organizational skills.
High level of attention to detail.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to pass a standardized color-blindness test.

Nice To Haves

One or more years of relevant experience in a laboratory/accessioning, production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.
One or more years of medical or production experience.
Current or previous Labcorp experience.

Responsibilities

Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas.
Accurately identify and label specimens.
Pack and ship specimens to the appropriate testing facilities.
Meet department activity and production goals.
Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples.
Enter patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
Resolve and document problem specimens.
Perform clinical specimen accessioning and sample sorting according to established standard operating procedures.
