About The Position

Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma (DLO) is seeking a Specimen Prep Tech I for the night shift in Oklahoma City, OK. This position operates Monday-Friday from 10:30 PM to 6:30 AM. The role involves reporting to work on time, performing assigned duties within capabilities, maintaining a positive and professional attitude, and working collaboratively as a team member in a respectful and productive environment.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of computers.
• Ability to enter 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes/hour.
• Works in a biohazard environment, practicing good safety habits.
• Able to sit or stand for long periods.
• Handles multiple tasks simultaneously and works in a production environment.
• Communicates effectively with all levels of staff.
• Maintains composure while working under pressure.
• Reflects good judgment at all times when determining what action to take when resolving problems.
• Adheres to Quest Diagnostics/DLO core values, safety and compliance policies and procedures.
• Keeps work area neat and clean.

Nice To Haves

• Medical background preferred, which includes medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory.
• Previous laboratory/medical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties assigned by supervisor, including inventory control and stocking supplies.
• Perform activities under the supervision of technical staff to facilitate workflow.
• Learn to process specimens for analyzer testing.
• Perform basic instrument maintenance to support the department.
• Perform bench startup and assist with production.
