About The Position

Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma (DLO) is seeking a Specimen Prep Technician I to join their team in Oklahoma City, OK. This role involves performing various laboratory tasks, including specimen processing, data entry, and maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies. The ideal candidate will have good computer skills, customer service skills, and knowledge of medical terminology. While previous laboratory experience is preferred, it is not required. The position requires a positive attitude, strong teamwork, and the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively as a team member and contribute to a respectful, productive work environment
  • Receives specimens into the laboratory using hospital LIS and other LIS systems (QLS, Quanum, IDAA, Beaker).
  • Assists professional staff in routine technical tasks such as specimen processing and send outs.
  • Other duties include filing, temperature checks, centrifuge maintenance, stocking supplies, answering telephone calls, entering orders, storing specimens, etc.
