About The Position

Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma (DLO) is seeking a Specimen Prep Tech I for the night shift, Monday-Friday, 8:30 PM - 5:30 AM. This role is critical to quality and customer satisfaction, requiring flexibility and the ability to learn and understand specimen types, compliance regulations, and laboratory information systems. The department operates in a production environment with an emphasis on productivity, quality standards, and departmental completion times.

Requirements

Basic understanding of computers.
Ability to type 40-45 WPM.
Handles multiple tasks simultaneously.
Works in a production environment.
Must have the ability to learn and understand specimen types related to test(s) ordered by the client.
Must have the ability to learn and understand the compliance regulations related to test ordering.
Great flexibility is required.
Should be able to work extra days/shifts as dictated by business need.

Nice To Haves

Data entry background is preferred but not required.
Preferred knowledge of laboratory testing and/or laboratory specimen processing.
Previous laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Report to work on time and prepared for each scheduled shift.
Perform all assigned duties and processes, including tasks for which you are fully qualified and those within your demonstrated capabilities.
Maintain a positive, professional, and supportive attitude throughout the workday.
Work collaboratively as a team member and contribute to a respectful, productive work environment.
Processing orders into local information system (LIS).
Presort, pickup and delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory.
Centrifugation and aliquoting of specimens.
Perform all functions with confidence, accuracy, and in a timely manner.
Learn and understand specimen types related to test(s) ordered by the client.
Learn and understand compliance regulations related to test ordering.
Adapt to many different demands made by the customer.
Work overtime occasionally as required based on staffing needs.
