About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join their Specimen Processing and Accessioning team in Englewood CO. This PRN (as needed) position operates on a 3rd shift schedule, from 8:00 PM to 4:30 AM. The role involves preparing laboratory specimens for analysis and testing, unpacking and routing them, accurately identifying and labeling them, and packing and shipping them to proper testing facilities. The individual will also be responsible for meeting department activity and production goals, properly preparing and storing excess specimen samples, performing accurate and timely data entry of patient information, and resolving and documenting any problem specimens. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Comfortable handling biological specimens
  • Ability to accurately identify specimens
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Strong data entry and organizational skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
  • Able to pass a standardized color-blind test

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year or more of experience in a lab or specimen processing
  • 1 year or more of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory experience
  • 1 year or more of experience in the healthcare industry, such as a physician's office, clinic or hospital
  • 1 year of experience in an assembly or manufacturing production environment

Responsibilities

  • Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
  • Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas
  • Accurately identify and label specimens
  • Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities

  • Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
