About The Position

We are seeking a Technical Writer with experience in the Architecture, Engineering, or Construction (A.E.C.) industries to transition into a Specifications Writer role. While no prior specifications experience is required, candidates must have a background in A.E.C. industries. The company will provide full training and ongoing support. This role involves close collaboration with architects and engineers to document building materials, prepare project specifications and manuals, provide technical input, support construction administration, conduct product research, assist with technical problem-solving, and contribute to quality control of documentation.

Requirements

• Working experience in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction (A.E.C.) industries
• 3+ years as a specifications or technical writer
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with specification management software is beneficial

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with architects, and engineers to identify and document appropriate building materials, assemblies, and systems
• Prepare comprehensive project specifications and manuals using established master specification content
• Provide technical input and guidance throughout the design process and during construction
• Support project teams during construction administration with specification-related reviews and responses
• Conduct product research, analysis, and comparative evaluations
• Assist with technical problem-solving and detailing as needed
• Contribute to quality control efforts related to documentation and specifications
