About The Position

VCSG is looking for compassionate, skilled Specialty Veterinary Technicians to join our team in North America’s First National Park City! Veterinary Care & Specialty Group (VCSG) is Chattanooga’s largest multi-specialty and emergency hospital, where compassionate care meets cutting-edge medicine. VCSG is a State of the Art Facility with Cutting Edge Technology including ultrasound, digital radiology, CT scanning, and advanced laboratory resources. Our main hospital is equipped with an in-house 1.5 Tesla MRI, 128-slice CT scanner, C-arm, high-flow oxygen ventilation, long-term ventilator, and onsite blood bank to ensure the highest standard of patient care. The Cancer Center serves as a central hub for various departments within our facility, encompassing critical areas like medical and radiation oncology. It is home to our new Varian 2024 Edge Linear Accelerator, representing a significant leap in our treatment capabilities.

Requirements

  • Available to work 10 – 12 hours shifts and some holidays.
  • 1-2 years of nursing experience in a veterinary setting, proven experience in ER, Urgent Care, or Specialty/Referral practice preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary drugs and their effects, backed by specialized training and expertise.
  • Skilled in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, drug calculations, and other technical skills.
  • Strong medical math skills and experience with drug calculations.
  • Attention to detail, must be thorough in your work, with a focus on accuracy, especially in critical moments.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

  • Support complex and urgent cases.
  • Deliver life-saving care across multiple disciplines.
  • Support board-certified specialists, emergency clinicians, residents and interns across all departments.
  • Utilize state-of-the-art equipment including CT, MRI, endoscopy, fluoroscopy, ventilators, and an on-site blood bank.
