About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking a Specialty Software Engineer for a hybrid role with a Global Financial Institution in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity where the contractor will support the Capital Markets investment banking technology team in expanding their front office business. The team focuses on risk and capital, creating internal products to enhance the platform and ensure their usability by other applications.

Requirements

5+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education.
Python programming experience with data engineering and/or full stack development (e.g., Pandas, Polars).
Experience building distributed applications.
Familiarity with Relational Databases (SQL Server, Oracle, DB2) and strong SQL Server expertise.
Familiarity with Micro-service architectures.
Experience with DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins, Automation Deployment toolkits).
Experience developing RESTful APIs.
Experience in an Agile Development environment.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a Test Driven Development (TDD) environment.
Familiarity with capital markets domain, specifically in risk disciplines such as Market and Counterparty Credit Risk.
Knowledge and understanding of derivative products, risk management, and data modeling of financial products.
Experience with GenAI and Agentic AI.

Responsibilities

Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Specialty Software Engineering.
Review and analyze complex multi-faceted, larger scale, or longer-term Specialty Software Engineering challenges.
Contribute to the resolution of complex situations requiring a solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
Analyze and interpret the Data Modernization strategy across impacted disciplines and develop and implement best-of-class data solutions.
Support formalization of business requirements, translation of business requirements into detailed technical requirements, and participation in Agile-based workstreams.
Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel.
